Profile

Naa Akwetey is an award-winning MIT-trained Economist, Strategy & Business Consultant, Mentor, Operational Excellence Enthusiast and Kingdom Excellence Ambassador, with cross-cultural academic and professional experiences from Ghana, the UK and the USA.

Naa holds two degrees – a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Management Science (Finance Concentration) — from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a Master of Science Degree in Risk and Stochastics from the London School of Economics (LSE). She has completed the Women’s Leadership Development Program from Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 exam.

Naa currently works as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at mPharma, a multiple award winning, technology-driven healthcare company headquartered in Ghana and operational in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Togo and Benin. She is responsible for strategy and operational efficiency across the group, as well as the company’s portfolio of social-impact and patient-centered solutions. She has built the company’s Market Access as a Service (MaaS) offering into Africa’s biggest and most commercially viable solution for access programs, positioning mPharma as the trusted to-go partner for pharma companies. She has designed and implemented over 15 successful access programs for companies such as Pfizer, Sanofi, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bayer and Roche across Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda. She joined mPharma as the Head of Finance for West Africa, and was promoted to Global Head of Finance and then SVP for Strategy & Business Development within two years of joining the company. In her three years as SVP, she spearheaded mPharma’s entry into Uganda, its expansion in Nigeria via a multi-million dollar acquisition, and its entry into Ethiopia via a business franchise agreement. She was awarded the 2024 Emerging Woman COO in Healthcare by Women’s Tabloid UK for her work at mPharma. Prior to joining mPharma she worked as an Economist with KPMG UK’s Transfer Pricing Team for three years.

As a Christian and Kingdom Excellence Ambassador, she prioritises using her gifts and talents to consult on and curate Christian events and experiences. She serves in her local churches in many capacities, with a special gift for the Administrative and Helps (Hospitality) ministries, and was a leader of the Hospitality Departments for her local churches in the UK and USA. She has also served on the core leadership team for large-scale events such as the UK Global Prayer Summit for Action Chapel International (ACi), and the maiden edition of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) Prayer Conference in Ghana for Streams of Joy International. She was also the Personal Assistant to Senior Bishop Dick Essandoh, ACi’s Bishop of UK & Europe for several years.

As a transformational and coaching leader, Naa enjoys partnering with Christian leaders and organizations to drive operational excellence and sustained growth through in-person coaching and training sessions, dubbed “The Kingdom Excellence Masterclass”.
